The 2nd ASEM seminar will systematically explore the potential of the EU-Asia S&T cooperation in order to draw meaningful conclusions for the role and activities of the ASEM S&T Cooperation Centre.


The second ASEM seminar “2016 ASEM Seminar on Science, Technology, Innovation for sustainable development” is part of the event series aiming to systematically explore the cooperation potential between Europe and South East Asia, under is organized by PRAXI Network/FORTH under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Research & Religious Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the General Secretariat for Research and Technology (GSRT) ，ASEM Cooperation Centre for Science Technology and Innovation( ASEM CCSTI) and Beijing Municipal Commission of Science and Technology. It also gains full support from Beijing Association for International Science and Technology Cooperation (BAISTC).


The objectives of the second seminar are the following:
    •    Set the framework for facilitating cooperation between the two regions
    •    Identify potential key areas of cooperation
    •    Identify best practices and obstacles
    •    Define activities of the ASEM secretariat
    •    Outreach to future ASEM nodes
